2025 round-up

2025 has been filled with lots of creative milestones. Here’s a few…

I challenged myself as a Digital Artist, bringing to life an immersive binaural audio experience and sensory space, with projected movement as part of TAKEOVER in Mansfield. Working with the young people at Sutton Community Academy to make this was a real joy! You can read more about this and hear the audio piece in my WILD WITHIN blog.

City Arts also commissioned me to workshop and create a binaural audio experience as part of MURMURATIONS, a project that seeks to build an LGBTQIA+ friendly Nottingham.

A big personal achievement this year is that I became a trustee for Notts LGBT+ Network!

My sister also got married, and I turned 30!

The King Stone by Charlotte East had an R&D at the National Theatre - I am Associate Producer on this show, leading on the community engagement work with a particular focus on pre and post show care due to the show’s themes of mental health. We are developing a community bench installation which will include local audio stories that will tour alongside the show to advocate for mental health organisations supporting local people and get people talking.

I had the pleasure of directing love you, bye written by Meg Pickup & Taruna Nalini - I have posted about this in my projects - check it out.

I returned to my devisor-performer craft, working with friend and colleague Octavia Nyombi on a new children’s show about change and acceptance, which we shared an extract of at Lincoln Arts Centre, and we will continue to develop the show into 2026.

I got into university to do a master’s in dramatherapy!

I have known for a while that I wanted to return to learning, and my work has become more and more focused on wellbeing, community benefit, and the healing and change-making potential of drama, so this is my natural next step. I will continue as Artistic Director of Mind Out Theatre and freelancing across theatre and education whilst training and beginning to practice as a Dramatherapist in 2027 (ahhhh)!

I finally updated my performer showreel, edited by Jack Dillon, and you can watch it here!

I co-directed Teen Spirit with Octavia Nyombi - story created by Phoenix Theatre Young Company, written by Sarah Middleton and performed at Lakeside Theatre in the Summer. We are pleased that Phoenix Theatre, with the support of funding from SHEWOLVES Productions, will continue into 2026 as Resident Artists at Lakeside Theatre!

Mind Out received Arts Council funding for Second Nature, enabling collaborations with GrowNotts, Unanima, The Broadway Cinema, and Bulwell Forest Gardens!

Mind Out’s QUEERDOs partnered with Derby Queer Arts Collective at In Good Company’s Departure Lounge at Derby Theatre. QUEERDOs also formally partnered with Notts LGBT+ Network and received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to continue our work with queer, neurodivergent and Disabled people.

Thanks for reading, and see you in 2026!
